Ever since Darwin and his followers first promoted evolution the Church and its leaders have been on the defence trying to explain man’s existence within the framework of the ‘Big Bang’ theory. Had the churches kept the Ten Commandments prominently displayed in the churches, especially the fourth commandment that says ‘Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.’ there would not have been a problem. But they had already produced a problem for themselves and the rest of mankind by changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, thus opening the door to the possibility that perhaps God’s word was not written in stone.

By changing their day of rest to a Sunday creation itself became something that could be questioned. This then eventually gave way to the possibility of the Big Bang theory and that evolution could take place. Man was no longer created in the image of God, but evolved from apes. Man had lost his inherent dignity and personal link to our Creator and so it did not matter about sin, guilt, conscience, the need to repent, eternity or anything else spiritual. Nor did it matter if babies were killed in the womb as they were just another animal and it was the survival of the fittest that decreed who should live or die. The whole of the Ten Commandments became irrelevant to the law of the land, and what the church leaders preached. Church leaders even today seem only to speak of God’s love but not His justice to those who have sinned. They have joined the politically correct brigade that says everything and everyone must be tolerated; there is no right or wrong, just what feels good in each individual’s circumstance. Although there are a few church leaders who do speak out against the killing of children by abortion, the vast majority of them do not. One reason is that they don’t want to seem to be judging members of their congregations who may have killed a child by abortion and would be upset by hearing a sermon that it is wrong. The usage of contraception by all levels of society, including many church leaders and Christians of all denominations, also makes it extremely difficult to speak out against the killing of children by abortion, when the killing of a child by abortion is the logical and accepted solution to failed contraception, and that does not even take into account the numbers of children killed by the abortifacient nature of contraceptives themselves.

Please pray for our church leaders, that they will turn back to Biblical principles and speak out against the evil of killing children by abortion, whether that is by medication or surgical intervention. Please pray that they will see that by using, promoting or just accepting contraception they are not trusting to the Lord to supply all their needs. The Bible tells us that it is the Lord who opens and closes wombs and that children are a blessing from God, to be welcomed not avoided. The Bible also tells us that women saw it as a curse when they were unable to have children. Please pray that the Church leaders will repent of their silence concerning these issues and apologise especially to those women who are hurting because they have killed one or more children by abortion, for not having spoken out sooner. Please pray that they will encourage married couples in their congregations to accept the blessings of God by being open to have more children.
As Church leaders, they above most people should recognise the spiritual fight that this world is part of – the fight between Christ and Satan; good and evil. They should recognise that Satan, the father of lies, does not want them to recognise the part he (Satan) has played and continues to play in deceiving as many people as possible into destroying life. Please pray that the hearts and minds of Church leaders will be open to the truth that comes only from Christ.
